Tsmuka Leader Office, Friday evening. The past week has been no improve- - ment on the former, so far as prices of giain are concerned. Wheat is less in value, 3s 6d being only obtained with difficulty for primest of samples. Barley is almost unsaleable at any price, as brewers’hands are full. Oats are held higher for various sorts ; indeed the present is the duih st in the grain season we have experienced for years. Potatoes are low in price, although not much in the market, 60s per ton being the highest price named. Dairy produce, howeer,A is considerably higher, and will doubtless con.inue to advance as the season wears on During the week numerous safes have taken place ;K. F. Gray held a sale of furniture last Saturday, * the ‘ attendance being good, and prices brisk ; the same auctioneer also sold a lot of live stock and furniture on Thursday last at fair prices.. During the week the auction sales at the Ram Fair came off 1 , but although the class of sheep was good, few were sold) and prices not up to the mark. Mr K. F.
