Lowgarth Presentation

A social evening in honour of Troopers S. Shrimpton and P. Gaffeney was held , in the Lowgarth hall. Visitors were present from surrounding districts and Wai- ! kato. Euchre play resulted. Messrs. A. A. Piper and A. Adams; Mrs. Treeweek and Mrs. F. Jpnes. Mr. A. A. Piper presented Trooper Shrimpton with a cheque, and Mrs. C. Schneller, president of the W.D.F.U. presented both soldiers with a propelling pencil. Mr. B. Hutchen, on behalf of Mahoe residents, also presented Trooper Shrimpton with a cheque. Trooper Gaffeney was earlier presented with a cheque from the Lowgarth soldiers' welfare committee. Messrs. ■ A. Alsop and J. Lyndon were masters of ceremonies.
