West End Bowling Pair Wins Northern Final

1 s •> Going through undefeated, E. Billing end E. Cawthray, of the West End club, won the northern division bowling pairs championship on Saturday, when the play-off begun the previous Saturday, was concluded at the Fitzroy green Weather and conditions generally were ideal for play. The winning pair will rcpresent the northern division in the divisional pairs competition, for the provincial championship to be played at New Plymouth, probably on the Vogeltown green, on Saturday. Four of the nine competing pairs were left in at the conclusion of the first day's play, Billing and Cawthray (West End) with two lives, E. Dingle and H. Round (Fitzroy), R. Karena and Stockman (Waitara), and E. Young and Millward (Clifton Park), with one life each. Details of Saturday's games are:— Fourth round: E. Billing and E. Cawthray 23 v. E. Young and Millward 18, E. Dingle and H. Round 23 v. R. Karena end Stockman 20. The Clifton Park and Waitara pairs were eliminated. Fin?l: Billing and Cawthray 21 (two lives) beat Dingle and Round (one life) 15.
