In the final of the Moss Cup played at Pungarehu at the week-end A. B. Gold beat F. McDavitt 3 and 1 after being one down at the 18th. Gold played a gross 79 for the last 18 holes. In the final of the intermediate championship J. Harte beat H. Wells 4 and 3. In the junior championship final A. J. Lilley beat P. Brophy 6 and 5. ■ A feature of the week-end golf was the number of nett scores returned under par, resulting in a considerable readjustment of some handicaps. On Saturday B. Brophy, playing in a stableford, returned a gross 74 (par 70) off a 12 handieap. giving him a stableford of 32 — 9—41. A. B. Gold won a medal match with 79—16—63. Four other players earned handicap reductions.
