SUPPORT OF CHURCHES

BRITAIN'S JUST CAUSE -in Rec. 9.10 p.m. London, Sept. 14. The Roman Catholic hierarchy of England and Wales made a declaration today expressing "profound conviction in the justice of our cause" and calling on all Catholics to co-operate willingly in every form of national service. The General Assembly of the Church of Scotland loyally addressed His Majesty pledging full support and the utmost endeavour to sustain the courage and endurance of the fighting forces. The Archbishop of Canterbury, the Moderator of the Church of Scotland and the Moderator of the Federal Council of the Evangelical Free Churches, in a message from Lambeth Palace, said: "We have not sought this war. It has been thrust upon us by the action of one man. On him alone lies the dreadful responsibility of haVing inflicted this crime upon humanity."
