V.A.D. CLASSES
KEEN INTEREST SHOWN MEN LEARN~ FIRST AID Thirty-one women took part in the first St. John Ambulance Association V.A.D. jclass held at the Taranaki Women's Club on Thursday night. The class held in the Little Theatre Society roorps in St. Aubyn Street has swelled from 42 to 72 ; since the last meeting was held. The lecturer at Thursday's class at the v.omen's club was Dr. F. W. W. Dawson, Medical Officer of Health. HiS lecture was the first of the course of six. The group secretary was Mrs. F. A. Chapn:sn, the demonstrators were Messrs. T. Dean, R. Williams and Jemison and the secretary was Mr. G. W. Childerstone. A lecture on St. John Ambulance work to a large class of men was .given by Dr. C. A. Taylor, medical superintendent to the Taranaki Hospital Board. The lecture was heard also by several intending members who will take part in the course to be started next Thursday with Dr. 1 Dawson as lecturer. Meny of the men, | including a number of ex-servicemen, are trying to qualify for brigade work.
