JACK TAR AT ELLERSLIE Jack Tar was responsible for a" sound performance wheri. he ran second to Round Up in the St. Andrew's Handieap at Ellerslie on Monday, states the Auckland Star. He had only had one previous start this season, consequently he was by no means as well seasoned as his opponents, and in the cirqumstances his effort was very encouraging. As Jack Tar is likely to derive some benefit from the race he should not take long to reach the winning list.
