MAYFAIR TO-MORROW.

MYRNA LOY IN "MAfT-PROOF." The screen version of David Belasco's famous successi» "Girl of the Golden West," stari'ing Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy, will be screened finally today at 2 and 8 p.m. at the Mayfair Theatre. Myrna Loy does her best to pretend she is "Man-Proof" in the picture of that name which will open at the Mayfair to-morrow, but Franchot Tone and Walter Pidgeon soon disillusion the star of any such idea. Rosalind Russell also plays an important part in the proceedings of the new romantic Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer comedy. Myrna Loy, earaing a temporary divorce from roles which established her as "the perfect 'Thin Man' wife of the screen," is single once again in this modern drama of modern New York life. Direct from the hiiarious comedy, "Double Wedding," in which she was co-starred with William Powell, Miss Loy is now teamed with Franchot Tone for the first time. Completing the four-sided angle are Rosalind Russell, who recently starrted in "Live, Love and Learn," and Walter Pidgeon, who won a long-term Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer contract for his excellent performance with Clark Gable and Jean Harlow in '"Saratoga." Other important roles are filled by Nana Bryant as Miss Loy's mother; Rita Johnson and Ruth Hussey as bridesmaids at Miss Russell's wedding, Leonard Penn as a companion of Pidgeon's, and John Miljan as his best man. An excellent supporting programme will be shown in addition. Plans are at Collier's.
