OPUNAKE FLOWER SHOW RECORD NOVICE ENTRIES DISPLAY OF DAFFODILS Record entries in tlie novice section formed one of the outstanding features of the Opunake Methodist spring flower show on Thursday. Competition in the amateur section was not so strong . The display of daffodils and cut blooms, however, earned the warm approval of the judge, Mr. T. Antunovic, who commented upon the marked i.nprovement made by exhibitors in the staging of blooms. The show championship was awarded to Mr. K. Mourie, who exhibited an excellent Beersheba, the popular white long trumpet variety. Mr. Mourie also was the most successful amateur grower. Opening the show the Rev. E. S. Harkness, Eltham, expressed pleasure at the opportunity of renewing acquaintances in Opunake where he had been stationed some years ago. He complimented growers upon the splendid display of flowers. Later Mr. Harkness presented to Mrs. J. S. Tosland, who has now won tlie trophy outi-ight, Ihe crystal rose bowl presented by Mrs. R. J. Morris for competition in the decorative section. The Rev. J.
