Miss Elizabetli Faterson, who died at Hawera on Monday, was a member of a well known Taranaki family. Born at Herbert, North Otago, Miss Paterson later lived with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Paterson, at Kapuni and on Manawapou Road until they moved to Hawera 22 years ago. Miss Paterson is survived by six brothors, Messrs. Alex Paterson (Hawera), N. (Dick) Paterson (Hawera), John Paterson (Manaia), Gharles Paterson (Kaponga), Anthony Paterson (Manaia) and Ernest Paterson (Morrinsville) and one sister, Mrs. Lovell (Riverlea). A brother was killed in tlie Great War and a sister died during the same period; Mr. Harold Ackroyd, who has resigned his position as woodwork instruetor at the Hawera Teclinical Hieh School to become instruetor for the Taranaki Education Board, was farewelled by members of the evening woodwork class. He was presented with a smoker's outfit as a token of appreciation of his instruction. Mr. H. R. Denize, formerly stock inspector at Hawera' and since 1934 at Palmerston North, has been advised of his transfer to Otago as chief stock inspector for Otago and Southland. Mr. Brian Haybittle, instruetor at the Mangere aerodrome, Auckland, fiew to Hawera last week with Squadron-Leader S. Burrell, in a Percival Gull, returning |on Monday. d
