MASTER CYKLON FANCIED MAESTRO IN FAVOUR REVIEW OF PROSPECTS The Woodville District Jockey Club's autumn meeting will open to-day and conclude on Monday. Though the fields are small in some races the form will be closely watched in view of the Wanganui meeting next week. The totalisator will operate on the single pool system. Following are details of the fields, with reviews in every case by "Hurry On." 12.15-

This is not a strong field, and any reasonably good "unknown" could easily upset the public form. Jacynth, Gay Hunting and Fair Day are fair sorts, but if Huntino iis as good as reported he should keep them busy. The main fancies may be — HUNTINO GAY HUNTING JACYNTH. . 12.55—

Parry and Royal Romance are recent winners, while Southern Blood and Twilight Song ran well enough in a similar type of race at Trentham to suggest that they have prospects. The best backed may be— ROYAL ROMANCE SOUTHERN BLOOD. 1.35—'

After the poor form of Siegmund at Hawera most backers will pass him by in this race, and with the possibility of a soft track Master Cyklon and Hunting Cat will advance in favour. Francis Drake raced well enough at Hawera to suggest that he possesses prospects. Old Surrey has gone the right way since his good second to Haughty Winner on the final day at Trentham, The favourites may be— MASTER CYKLON OLD SURREY HUNTING CAT. 2.15—

As Lady Furst beat Kathbella at Hastings on January 3 she is likely to come in for plenty of attention from backers in this event. Cherry Plum and Twent.y Grand are improvers, while the big course should suit Dunmanaway. The principal fancies may be — LADY FURST CHERRY PLUM. 2.55—

Earl Colossus' two placings at Hawera will draw attention to his prospects, but Rockingham may make more appeal at the weights. He ran a flne race over this distance on the final day at Trentham. State Bank, Tommy Atkins and Merryman may run prominently. The popular selections may be— ROCKINGHAM EARL COLOSSUS. 3.35—

Joviality appears to have lost form, while Siegmund does not appeal over the distance. Passion Fruit, who made a return to form at Pahiatua, and Slippery, who will appreciate the recent rain, should make good efforts, while old Kahikitoa may surprise. The likely favourites may be — PASSION FRUIT SLTPPERY. 4.15—

The small field will suit Maestro, who won in solid style at Hawera. With the easier tracks most opposition may come from Quadroon. 5.0-

Mea Mea and Alloa are recent winners, and Conversion is showing improvement. Joe Louis and Golden Ridge must be respected, while Haile Selassie did well enough at Trentham to suggest that he has prospects in this company.
