JQURNAL OF AGRICULTURE. FEATURES POPULARTSED, The January issue of the Journal of Agriculture not only marks the commencement of the journal's 56th volume, j but is the first number in a new form of issue. The journal has been enlarged, ■ and the technical information for which it has earned a high reputation is presented in a more popular form.. There are many illustrations, and the number is introduced by a series of goodwill messages supplied by the Prime Minister, the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Agriculture, the chairmen of the Meat Produeers', Dairy, Poultry, Fruit-Export and Honey Control boards, by the presidents of the Farmers' Union, the Sheepowners' Federation, the Federation of Young Farmers' Clubs and of the North Island Dairy Association. The organisation of the Department of Agriculture is detailed, and the names of the chief executive officials are also given. The special articles are classified and presented in an attractive form which should have a wide appeal to the man on the land. A feature that can be commended 'warmly is one referring to the aotivitjes of the Young Farmers' Clubs. Speaking generally Ihe journal In its new form should prove a decided acquisition to any farmer's library. It indicates the department's desire to be of continuous service to the farming community. _
