"When the foal was on* day old," Jean writes, "it got into ihe . water trough. We saw Jean rush fram the trough to the gate and then b|ek to the trough again. The men saw hcr and went across to the trough and found the.. foal standing in ihe water. They took it out and it is quite all right now. Do you thir.k she ran around fcsytog to attract attention to her foal, of did she run away to try to get the foal to follow her? We never really know what they do think, do we? Anyfeew she ssved his life by running arO' \ Margaret Watt, Kakaramea (11 years).
