W. E. Parry, to What was claimed to amount to clrcumvention of the city by-laws in the selling of art union tickets in doorways and on streets. "I do not know jwhether it is generally known, but quite a lot of our own members go in for art unions ^and talk about what they will do with the money if they win," said Mr. H. Chapman. The chairman, the Rev. Clarence Eaton, said that he hoped it was on something charitable and worthy. Mr. Chapman said he had not heard anyone say so. It left the church open to a charge of hypocrisy if it protested against art unions end could not bring its own people to order. Mr. Frank Thompson referred to the selling of art unlon tickets in doorways, saying that the Minister should be asked to put a stop to it, for it was circumventing the prohibition by the city council of selling art union tickets in streets.
