TWO WARDS CLOSED
DIPHTHERIA OUTBREAK NEW PLYMOUTH HOSPITAL A rnild outbreak of diphtheria has occurred at the New Plymouth Public Hospital, with the result that both children's wards have been closed for a while and no visitors are allowed. Two new diphtheria carriers had been discovered among the children, said Dr. G. F. Rich, medical superintendent of the hospital, last night. Two nurses who had been mildly infected had gone off duty, and it had been found necessary to close the children's wards a? a precautionary measure, although the outbreak was not serious.
