Comment on hurried legislation was made in the Legislative Council when the Council was asked to pass the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Amendment Bill, amending an Act passed only two days before. Payment of Annuity. Whether a man who left an annuity to "my wife" intended that she should receive the money even though they were divorced between the making of the will and his death was argued in the Supreme Court at Wellington. Watersiders Cnticised. Alleging that' the work of watersiders in New Zealand was very poor and that costs had therefore risen extraordinarily, the manager of a shipping company said the shipping companies had decided to delay their building programmes.
