PRICES AT STRATFORD Produce prices at- Stratford this week have remained fairly steady. New season's potatoes are difficult to obtain, and the price has consequently risen. Yesterday's quotations were: — Fruit: Apples, best dessert, 6d lb; oranges, 4, 5 and 6 for ls; bananas, 6d lb; lemons, 6 for ls; grapes, ls 8d lb; pineapples, 2s each; strawberries, 2s 6d per chip. Vegetables: • Cabbages, 3d to 6d each; cauliflowers, 6d to ls; kumeras, 4 for ls; onions, 3d lb; potatoes, new, 41b for ls; green peas, 6d lb; rhubarb, 6d to ls; lettuce, 3d and 4d; asparagus, ls lb; beetroot, 3d lb; hothouse tomatoes, 2s to 2s 6d. Poultry: Cockerels, 6d to ls 6d; hens, 2s to 2s 3d; geese, 3s to 3s 6d; goslmgs, 2s to '2s 9d; turkey hens, 7s 6d; ducks, 2s 9d to 3s 6d; hens and chickens, 9s to 15s. Bacon and ham: Shoulder rashers, ls 4d; rib rashers, ls 5d; by piece, shoulder cut, lOd to ls ,2d; hams, rashers, ls 7d; whole hams, ls 5d; half hams, ls 6d. Butter and cheese: Butter, factory, first grade, ls 5d lb, second grade, ls 31d lb. Cheese: Medium, lld lb; tasty, ls 2d lb. Eggs: Hen and duck, one grade, ls 7d a dozen.
