EMPIRE PARLIAMENTS

ASSOCIATION MEETING
Wellington, Nov. 4. The annual meeting of the New Zealand branch of the Empire Parliamentary Association was held to-day. The following officers were elected: Presidents, Speakers of the Legislative Council and the House of Representatives; vice -presidents, the Prime Minister (Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage), the Leader of the Legislative Council (Hon. Mark Fagan), the Leader of the Opposition (Hon. A. Hamilton, Messrs. G. W. Forbes, J. G. Coates and Sir James Allen; treasurer, the Hon. W. W. Snodgrass; secretary. the Clerk of Parliament®, Mr. C. M. Bothamley. Mr. J. O'Brien, member for Westland, was elected to represent the association at the sesquicentenary celebrations in New South Wales in January. It was announced that Sir Howard Degville, secretary of the United Kingdom branch of the Empire Parliamentary Association, would visit New Zealand after attending the sesquicentenary celebrations in New South Wales early next year. He expects to arrive at Auckland on February 14.
