SUB-LETTING NOT WANTED STATE PLAN INTENTIONS
"Wellington, Last Night. Sub-letting by tenants of Government houses is to be discouraged according to a statement by the Urider-Secretary for Housing, Mr. J. A. Lee, to-day. Mr. Lee stated that the intention is to let each house so as to provide for the maxknum occupation of rooms by the renter's family. Referring to unemployed men securing State houses Mr, Lee' said; ''One cannot be dogmatic about things like that. A man may be on uustenance but the income of the family as a whole may be £7 a week. Who gets the houses^ will be determined on the combined basis of the need of the family for a house and its capacity as. a whole to pay the rent." •
