KEEN DEMAND IN MOST CLASSES. EWE VALUES ADVANCE ls TO ls 6d. Wellington, Aug. 4. A large yarding of all classes of»cattle and sheep came forward at the Johnsonville stock sale to-day. The bullocks were chiefly prime heavyweight cattle, with a few pens .of prime light to med-ium-weight bullocks. Competition was keen for all classes, with prices firm for heavy cattle, " and extra prime mediumweight bullocks 5s a head dearer. Light and unfinished showed no alteration. The yarding of cows and heifers was not up to the usual quality. Extra prime heavy cows sold readily, and mediumweights were slightly easier and unfinished sorts 5s to 10s down on last week's rates. Cows ex dairy sold at prices raling on up-country rates. A good sale resulted for runners and vealers at prices showing no alteration. The yarding of sheep was of exceptionally good quality throughout. Extra prime heavy wethers met with spirited competition at prices showing a firming tendency, and prime medium-weight sheep were firm to the extent of ls a head. The first consignment of shorn wethers came .forward. Competition for these was keen and in comparison with woolly wethers there was little difference. There was a good sale for all classes of ewes, which sold readily at prices from ls to ls 6d ahead of last week's rates. Prime quality lambs met with a good saLs, but light and unfinished were unspught even at reduced limits. The range of prices was as follows:— Prime extra heavy bullocks, £14 15s to £14 5s, prime heavy £14 to £13 15s, heavy £13 5s to £12 2s 6d, ordinary £11 10s to £10 5s; extra prime heavy cows and heifers £10 5s to £9 15s, primeheavy £9 5s / to- £8 15s,. ordinary £8 10s to £7 17s, 6d; prime heavy cows, ex dairy, £6 15? to £6 5s, ordinary ' £5 18s 6d to £4 10s; runners, heavy £4 15s to £4 8s 6d, .ordinary £4 5s to £3 17s; vealers, prime, £3 5s to £2 18s 6d; smali calves, 26s Gd .to 10s. Prime extra heavy wethers, 42s, 4is (show sheep, small pen); prime fieavy wethers, 39s 9d to 38s 6d, heavy 37s. 9d to 36s 6d, ordinary 35s 6d down to 32s 4d; prime m.f. two-tooths, 39s 6d to 36s lOd; prime extra heavy ewes, young 38s 6d to 37s 3d, prime heavy 36s Gd to 35s 4d, ordinary 32s 7d to 25s 6d; medium lambs, 26s 9d to 24s 6d, light. 21s ?d to 19s 9d. _
