WEDDING
JOYCE — DAVIDSON. The wedding took place at St. John's Presbyterian Church, Hawera, on Junc 29 of Jean, younger daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Davidson, Kaupokonui, to John, youngest son of Ihe late Mr. and Mrs. P. Joyce, Canterbury. The Rev. A. G. Irvine conducted tlie ceremony and Mr. Rowe was at tlie.organ. Escorted by her father, the tall, darkhaired bride wore a gown of magnolia souple satin. Tlie principal accent of her gown, which was fashioned on empire lines, was the voluminous train, which was richly embroidered with roscs studded with pearls. The fllmy veil, appliqued with satin roses, was held in place by a simple halo of orange blossom. Matching shoes and a bouquet of white hydrangeas, clirysanthemums, cream Chinese lanterns and winter roses completed her outfit. Tlie matron of honour, Mrs. A. Dunn, sister of the bride, wore a frock of delphinium chiffon velvet featuring a draped bodicei finished with a faggoted yoke and cauglit at' the neckline with two ornamental clips. With this was worn siiver kid shoes and a halo of blue flowers and siiver leaves. Her bouquet comprised blue hydrangeas and lemon chrysanthemums with siiver ribbons, When the bride left the church Moira Joyce, niece of tlie bridegroom, presented her with a lucky horse-shoe. The bouquets were made by Mrs. E. C. Evans, Auroa. A reception was held at the Carlton lounge. Mrs. Davidson wore a navy and white' ensemble and a scarlet shoulder spray. The bride travelled in a navy tailored costume witli hat, gloves, shoes and bag to match.
