MEREMERE DANCE
DAIRY COMPANY GATHERING. The Meremere hall was filled to capacity on- Monday night when the directors of the Melrose Dairy Company gave their annual dance to shareholders and suppliers. Visitors were present from Hawera and Ohangai. Music for the dance was supplied by Mrs. A. E. Williams, Mr. J. Bloor and Mr. and Mrs. Banks. Messrs. J. Bloor and A. E. Williams were masters of ceremonies, A mystery train waltz was won by Mr. L Williams and Miss G. Williamsi A Monte Carlo dance won by Mr. J. Steiner and Mrs. J. Schupfer. Supper was served by Mesdames A. Looney, A. Williams and M. McNaught, assisted by a band of helpers. After supper Mr. G. Wallace on behalf of the school committee and friends presented Mr. and Mrs. G. Williams with a crystal wine set on a silver tray as an appreciation of their work in the district and wished them happiness in their new home. Mr. and Mrs. G. Williams were accorded musical honours and cheers. Mr. Williams suitably replied. Songs were sung by Mr. and Mrs. Banks and an oxhibition tap dance was given by Miss Poppy Bloor with Mrs. A. Williams at the piano. Personal. Mrs. Reynolds, who was visiting her daughter, Mrs. M. Reevc, has returned to her home at Tikorangi. Mr. Neil Andrews is spending a Tioliday with his sist.er, Mrs. E. Soper, Okato. Mrs. Roberison, Hawera, is visiting her claughler, Mrs. W. Dunlop. Mr. and Mrs. W. McNaught have returned from a holiday at Wellington. Miss G. Williams, accompanied by her cousin, Miss Jetta Williams, left by car to spend a holiday at Wellington. Guild Meeting. Despite . the wet weather there was a fair attendance at the monthly meeting of the Ladies' Guild held at the residence of Mrs. G. W. Williams on Tuesday.
