Washington, Aug. 3. Fresident Roosevelt sent a letter to Senator Thomas objecting to the latter's proposal to create a slidiug scale of values by altering the dollar's theoretical gold content. Tlie Presldent issued a warning that ifc would be dangerous to attempt an adjustment to any rigid pattern and declared that the stabilisation of the dollar must come from a balanced and orderly recovery by way of uational economy. He called the tripartite monetary agreement between America, France and Britain, a step towards external stabilisation of the dollar. ,
