FAVOURABLE BALANCE

AUSTRALIA'S AMERICAN TRADE,
Canberra, Aug. 4. For the first time since the federation Australia lias achieved a favourable trade balance with the United Statcs. Ex•ports in the last tinanoial year exceeded imports by £1,047,000. This figure takes into account the export of bullion and specie valued at £5,630,000.
