GRADING OF TEACHERS
HEARING OF APPEALS BOARD VISITS TARANAKI A sitting of the Teachers' Training Appeal Board will open at the offices of the Taranaki Education Board this morning. It is expected that the sittings will occupy two days, for there are eight appeals to be dealt with. Proceedings will be in camera. The Appeal Board comprises Messrs. T. R. Cresswell, chairman, R. McGlashen (Napier), teachers' representative, and Dr. J. W. Mcllraith, Education Department's representative. The Taranaki school inspectors will be present in support of their grading, while the teachers who are appealing may either conduct their own cases or else be assisted by Mr. W. L.- Wagstaff, headmaster of the West End school, who is teachers' advocate for Taranaki and will be present on both days. The members of the board arrived at New Plymouth last night and will leave for Auckland to-morrow night.
