Mitzi Green, former child star of pictures, has scored a great hit as an adult musical-comedy actress in New York. # # «= » Gloria Stuart and Michael Wlialen have been teamed in 20th Century-Fox's "Escape" from Love." The picture will be directed by Eugene Forde. * • • • Betty Blythe, famous silent star, has been added to the cast of Garbo's next picture, "Maria Walewska." She played a small part in "Anna Karenina." ® # ® • Henry Fonda has signed with Warners to play opposite Bette Davis in "That Certain Woman." Edmund Goulding, who wrote the story, will also dix'ect. # ~ * w • Tony Martin, ex-radio singer who has played small parts in one or two films already, has been given the lead in a new 20th Century-Fox musical, "Everybody Sings." # * # # Jean Arthur and Columbia are engaged in a legal battle over her contract. The studio claim that Miss Arthur's contract with them still has a year to run and that she may not work for other companies without permission from Columbia.
