KING TO PRES1DENT OF FRANCE. COMMON DESIRE FOR PEACE.

Rec. 11.10 p.m. Rugby, April 29. When Sir Eric Phipps, the new British Ambassador to France, presented his credentials to President Lebrun yesterday he delivered a message of cordial goodwill from the King to France. The ambassador spoke of the common desire for peace in France and Britain and declared the close union of the two countries was more than essential for the consolidation of that end. President Lebrun warmly reciprocated these sentiments and expressed his personal pleasure at the return to France as ambassador of a diplomat so well known and affectionately appreciated there.
