Mrs. Ellis and Miss Olive Ellis left during the week to spend a holiday at Melbourne, and Sydney. Mrs. S. G. Fraser was a bridge hostess last Saturday evening. The prize-win-ners were Mesdames Beckbessinger and E. George. , Mrs. Beckbessinger entertained at a bridge evening on Thursday in honour of her guest, Mrs. M. Elliot. Mrs. Le Brun left on Friday on a visit to Wanganui and the south. Mrs. J. W. Hamlin was a bridge hostess on Friday evening. Mrs. I. Prichard was hostess at a five o'clock party on Saturday in honour of Mr. and Mrs. E. A. George's silver wedding. Mrs. Prichard' received her guests wearing a frock of blue marocain with shoulder spray of white clematis. Mrs. George, who wore a frock of blue cloque, was presented with a spray of begonias. The drawing room was decorated with bowls of Mexican sunflowers and begonias.
