REPORT OF COMMfTTEE ROYALTY'S ALLOWANCES £6000 GRANTED PRINCESS EXTRA DUTIES FOR DUKE NO MENTION OF EX-KING
Rec. 9 p.m. London, April 29. The report of tlie select committee on the new civil list has now been completed, says the political correspondent of the Daily Mail. A special allowance of at least £6000 a year for Princess Elizabeth until she comes of age and an increased allowance for the Duke of Gloucester (at present £25,000) in recognition of the extra duties he has to perform in the ahsence of a Prince of Wales are among the recommendations of the committee. Queen Elizabeth and Queen Mary will each receive allowances of £70,000. The other recommendations follow closely the provisions made for the .Royal Family in George V's reign. The report contains no references to any allowance for the Duke of Windsor.
