The Stratford section of the St. John Ambulance Association . has been raised to the status of a division. Dangcr of Live Wires. The danger of handling live wires, even when they are supposed to be covered with insulation, was emphasised at the inquest on the death of a boy who was electrocuted at New Plymouth. Mountain Rcsorts Popular. Practically all accommodation at Egmont National Park resorts has been taken for Easter, the visitors including 32 members of the Auckland Tramping Club who are making Dawson Falls their headquarters. Ali" Pllois' Easter Camp. The pilots' Easter camp opened yesterday at the New Plymouth Airport. Wing-Commander the Hon. R. F. Cochrane, who inspected the camp, remarked on New Plymouth's enterprise in acquiring such a large field. Fatal Car Accident. As a result of a fractured skull and internal injuries received when she was pinned beneath an overturned car, a wornan died in the New Plymouth Hospital last night. Her son, who was driving, had bot.h collarbones broken. Mystery of Crutches. Mystery surrounds the discovery of a pair of crutches and three pairs of socks on the rocks below the esplanade at New Plymouth. The pollce have discovered that the socks were sold to a man on crutches, and an effort is being made to establish his identity. Working Manager to Count. Such was the decision of Mr. W. H. Woodward, S.M., in dismissing an action by the Labour Department against a cheese factory. Helred Escaped Prisoner. William Joseph Fox's motive in escapirig from the custody of a prison warder at Stratford railway station on March 8 was revealed at Stratford yesterday in the hearing of a charge against Wilfred Wolf Waldron, Aotuhia, of assisting Fox's escape. Waldron pleaded guilty and was committed to the Supreme Court Oi Wellington for sentence on April 15.
