KING'S THEATRE ATTRACTIONS.
GRIPPING DRAMATIC FILMS. "Love Letters of a Star," the Universal picture which will open a season at the King's Theatre, Stratford, tonight, presents a thrilling mystery drama, filled with tense situations, grippingly built up to a surprise climax. The film relates the adventures which befall a wealthy family, whose daughter is driven to suicide by a blackmailer. The scoundrel meets his death under unusual circumstances that point suspicion toward the family. They are followed by a man who calls the police. Attempting to board their yacht, they are hunted down by a detective, who discovers the real criminal on the vessel. The method of trailing him and making him reveal his wrongdoing is one of the most striking ever filmed for the screen. The identity of the killer is not known until the end of the narrative. The leading parts are portrayed by Henry Hunter, Polly Rowles and C. Henry Gordon. The activities of the infamous hooded legion that terrorised many communities in the mid-west provides the theme of "Legion of Terror," which stars Bruce Cabot, Marguerite Churchill and Crawford Weaver. Much excitement is injected into the picture when the Federal Government, in the person of postal inspectors, go to work on the hooded folk when they attempt to send a time-bomb through the mails.
