WEDDINGS

BENDALL— HARRIS. The Taumarunui Anglican Church was the scene of the wedding on March 2, •1097 of Joyce Ethel Harris, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L Harris, Manunui, to Leonard Norman Bendall, the fourth son of Mr. and Mrs. G. H. Bendall, New Plymouth. The Rev. Oxenbridge performed the marriage ceremony .and Mr. E. Bassett played the bridal mtusic. , , w .. The bride, who was escorted b> her father, wore a frock of cream taffetaa, ,with a gold thread check. The bodice 'was tight fitting with a double cape collar -forming sleeves, and hte full skirt was inset with rows of accordeon pleatings. She wore a flowmg tulle veil with a row of orange blossom over the head and carried a bouquet of white speciosum album lilies and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaid, Beryl Harris, wore a n ankle-length frock of pale pink georgette with bodice and sleeves of silK lace The cowl nekline was caught witn a diamante. Her bouquet was of pale pink sweet peas and carnations. Mr. john Vincent, Manaia, acted as best After the ceremony the guests were entertained at the Marble Bar, where the wedding breakfast was served. The bride's mother wore a frock of navy blue floral georgette with hat to tone. The bridegroom's present to the bride was. an amber necklace, and to the bridesmaid a wristlet watch. The bride's travelling frock was of navy blue terressa crepe cut on smart military lines, with hat to match.
