Sense of Direction.' Wheeling round in circles like a great flock of seagulls, and with equally as much rioise, the girls in a blindfold race at the Hawera High School' sports on Thiirsday presented ari amusing spec•tiabie. Leaving the starting point they were very soon bereft of all sense of djrection, with the result that many of the llO competitors were surprised to ftnd that, they had nm the race in the wrong direction. : Commerce Stamps Ejdiibit. Mr. E. K. Cameron, president of the Hawera Chamber of Commerce, presented at the chamber's meeting on Wednesday night a complete set of the stamps which . were used to commemorate the fourteenth Congress of Chambers of Commerce held at Wellington in October last. The stamps, which had been affixed to a first-day cover and posted from Wellington to Hawera, were mounted and framed. Thanks for the memento were extended to Mr. Cameron. The exhibit is to be hung in the meeting room. Band Concert. The Hawera Municipal Band, which 1 s to take part in the Taranaki band contes't at Hawera next month, wifi give an exhibition of the contest quickstep at King .Ed ward ' Park, Hawera, to-morrow afternoon. The contest selection and other items will be played.
