METHODIST CONCERT

SCHOOL AND BIBLE CLASSES.

A concert that attracted a large attendance was given by pupils of the Hawera Methodist Sunday school and Bible classes on Wednesday night. An excellent programme was presented, ,although some of the performers were absent owing to the bad weather and illness. The singing of the National Anthem in unison opened proceedings, the programme including items by the junior choir, double quartet by the Bible class, Mrs. Tozer's primary clas% a Dutch number by Mrs. Knightbridge'R elass, piano solos . by Eric Johnson, Naida Sorenson, Muriel Johnson and Margaret Fake, duet by Ron Shaw' and Wallace Glen, recitation by Shirley Walters, Margaret Fake, Valerie Shaw, Joan Darbyshire, Patsy Dudding, Gwen Hardley, Valerie Patterson and Ed. Yearbury, solo by Elsie Hartmann, "Lullaby Land" by the class conducted by Misses Seed and Wilmhurst, clarionet sola by Basil Patterson, violin solo by Don Eggleston, plays by the young women's Bible class, "School Bill Fever" by Cora Gribble, Marjorie Butchart and Lilian McNeil, and "Minding the Baby," by Gwen Mills, Lilian McNeil and Elsie Hartmann. The Rev. Basil Metson returned thanks to the staff and scholars.
