DICKIE BROTHERS’ SUCCESS. STURT AND LAMPE BEATEN. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wanganui, Last Night. Fine weather favoured the. North Island tennis championships, which were continued at Wanganui to-day, and excellent tennis was closely followed by a large crowd. I The most notable defeat of the day was the elimination of N. G. Sturt and M. L. Lampe in the men’s doubles by the youthful Waverley pair E. and A. Dickie. The boys played well together, and that was a great factor in deciding a three-set match. Bedford (Wellington) has reached the final of the men’s singles and will play the winner of the semi-final between N. G. Sturt (Auckland) and L. W. Udy (Wanganui). The two Misses Beverley (Waikato) have reached the final of the ■women’s singles. The Dickie brothers are in the final of the men’s doubles and are to play the winners of the match between Cox and Udy (Wanganui) v. Robertson brothers. The final of the women’s doubles will be played between the Misses Beverley and Mrs. Smith and Miss Greaves. Sturt and Miss N. Beverley are in the final of the combined doubles and will play the winners of the*. match between Hay Campbell and Miss Purcell and Bedford and Miss Ramsay.
