Miss Mary Healy has returned to Urenui after staying with Miss Audrey Eversfleld fort a feW days. Miss Jessie Longbottom has returned from Eltham and is staying ; with her mother, Mrs. Longbottom. Mrs. MeAllum was “at home” to friends one day this week. Miss Norah Good, Tariki, is visiting New Plymouth. On Wednesday morning the staff of the Inglewood school entertained at morning tea after the Usual Christmas tree gathering for the children. Among those present were Mesdames J. Gibbs, S. Wanklyn, N. Lovegrove and L. Judd and Miss W. Whittington. Mrs. Lovegrove will leave by car today for Auckland, where she Will spend some weeks with relatives. Miss C. M. Sinclair left yesterday for Tapanui, Otago, where she will stay with her mother, Mrs. William Sinclair, before leaving to take up her duties as infant mistress of the Bluff school. Mrs. Henry Sinclair and family, Matiere, will arrive to-day and will spend a few days with Mrs. N. T. Roch. Miss M. E. James will leave to-day for New Plymouth, where she will stay with her mother, Mrs. H. James, for a few days before leaving for Warrington, Otego, to stay with her sister, Miss Dorothy James. The staff and pupils of the Inglewood school farewelled Miss C. M. Sinclair on Thursday afternoom.Mr. C. Pearce, headmaster, referred to the good work of Miss Sinclair during her term of three years as infant mistress and asked her to accept a silver manicure set as a token of the esteem and respect in which she was held. The staff entertained Miss Sinclair at afternoon tea. Miss M. McElroy is spending the Christmas vacation with her parents at Tariki. Mrs. C. R. O’Carroll, accompanied by her daughter, Mrs. D’Arcy Cameron, New Plymouth, will leave to-day to spend a few weeks’ holiday at Auckland. Mrs. C. Nicholls and her small daughter, Beth, Waitara, are the guests of Mrs. A. Coles.
