RELEASE OF REBELS
EFFECT-OF AMNESTY IN GREECE. GROWING SYMPATHY WITH KING. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. < Athens, Dec. 2. As a result of the amnesty 578 persons concerned in the March rebellion have been released. M. Venizelos in a statement says there is growing sympathy with King George in his difficult and noble task. He recognises that the Ministers and not the King are responsible for the discrimination between civilian and military insurgents. “This means,” he said, “that I, who have been sentenced to death ak chief of the insurrection, am treated more leniently than a junior officer.”
