BOWLING AND TENNIS MATCHES. BOTH HOME TEAMS SUCCESSFUL. A bowling match was played at Auroa on Saturday afternoon between Warea and Auroa rinks, and in a keenly contested match Auroa won, details being as follows:— A. W. S. Millar, Guy, Ross, T. Kilpatrick 23 — Doyle, !Harte, Andrews, Muir .... — 26 Johns, Webby, Corey, A. C. Johnstone 24 — Sole, Lawn, Lewis, Julian — 18 Totals 47 44 In a colts’ rinks match Auroa beat Kaponga. Details are:— K. A. Honore, , Keheley, O’Neill .. 11 — Mudford, J. Kilpatrick, E> Drake, W. J. Sandford — 22 On Saturday afternoon the Rowan Tennis Club visited Auroa and played a match with the Auroa club, scores being as follows, with Rowan names mentioned first:— Women’s doubles: Misses E. Sattler and M. Stone lost to Misses E. .O’Dea and U. West 3—6; Misses V. Jackson and D. Warner beat Misses V. King and F. Brown 6—3. Men’s doubles: J. Lines and R. Dempsey lost to L. West and R. James 4—6; G. Cuff and L. Lines lost to F. Kerr and F. Clarke 4—6. Combined doubles: J. Lines and Miss Sattler beat L. West and Miss O’Dea 6—2; R. Dempsey and M. Stone beat R. James and U West 6—5; G. Cuff and V. Jackson lost to F. Kerr and V. King 2—6; L. Lines and D. Warner beat F. Clarke and F. Brown 6— 4. Women's singles: Miss E. Sattler lost to 'Miss E. ’O’Dea 3—6; Miss M. Stone lost to Miss U. West o—6; Miss V. Jackson lost to Miss V. King 3—6; Miss D. Warner beat Miss F. Brown. 6—4. Men’s singles: J. Lines lost to L. West 2—6; R. Dempsey beat R. James 6—5; G. Cuff lost to F. Kerr I—6; L. Lines beat F. Clarke 6—4.
