VAST TREASURE HUNT

SUNKEN SPANISH GALLEONS. Thirty million pieces of eight, besides emeralds, pearls, gold and other jewels, are believed to be lying in the remains of Spanish galleons which were sunk in Vigo Bay in 1702. Now a company is to be organised and funds raised to finance a hunt for the treasure. The galleons, part of the “Silver Fleet” returning to Spain from the West Indies, were sunk by order of the Spanish Admiral to prevent their falling into the hands of the British and Dutch fleets.
