The cast is composed of Zasu Pitts, Philips Holmes, May Brian, Ned Sparks and Lew Cody, with Olive Tell, Jed Prouty, Charles B. Middleton, Rollo Lloyd and Hale Hamilton heading the supporting players. Cast in the leading role of “Stolen Harmony,” his new Paramount picture, coming on Wednesday to the Grand Theatre for a threenights’ season, George Raft returns to the type of characterisation that shot him to stardom in “Scarface.” Starred with Ben Bernie and his lads, Raft plays an ex-convict who turns straight for a chance to join Bernie and his lads on a transcontinental amusement tour. OPERA HOUSE, HAWERA. “CARDINAL RICHELIEU” SEASON. . “Cardinal Richelieu,” starring George Arliss, will be the feature attraction at the Opera House, Hawera, to-morrow when it commences for three nights and two matinees. Cameron- Rogers and Maude Howell based the screen story on Sir Edward Bulwer-Lytton’s famous play about the prelate who stood behind the throne of Louis XIII. of France. WP. Lipscomb, who collaborated on both the screen and stage productions of “Clive of India.” wrote the dialogue. Maureen O’Sullivan, Edward Arnold, Francis Lister, Douglas Dumbrille and Cesar Romero head the imposing cast of this lavish production, which was directed by Rowland V. Lee, who last season directed the highly successful “Count of Monte Cristo.” Also prominent in the supporting cast are Violet Cooper, Kathryn Alexander, Lumsden Hare, Robert Harrigan and Halliwell Hobbes.
