CHALLENGE ISSUED
STRATFORD CAMPAIGN METHODS. Comment on the subject of Mr. Polson’s publicity agent, the alleged use of Point Blank for political propaganda and Mr. J. Cormick’s reply to the questions asked by Mr. Peter Skoglund at Ngaere, Wharehuia and Douglas, was made by Mr. Peter Skoglund last night. “Mr. Cormick denied that he Is Mr. Polson’s publicity man,” said Mr. Skoglund. “I know he has written reports for Mr. Polson. I issue this challenge. He can select a referee at Stratford and we will go to the newspapers. I want to have a look at the original copy of those reports. If I cannot find reports written by Mr. Cormick I will make a public apology. If I prove Mr. Cormick wrong, as I think I will, then I expect him to apologise. Referring to the fact that at country meetings he had called Mr. Cormick by certain names, Mr, Skoglund said he apologised for that. His only reason for doing so was that he had the idea that he could not refer to Mr. Cormick by name from the platform. Mr. Peter Skoglund also spoke on his father’s behalf. . . ' A motion of thanks and confidence, . moved by Mr. Richmond, was carried by acclamation.
