TATARAIMAKA FAREWELL

MR. AND MRS. FABISH HONOURED. Mr. and Mrs. T. Fabish, who have lived for some years at Tataraimaka, were guests at an enjoyable farewell evening on Wednesday. Martin’s orchestra played for the dancing and Monte Carlos were won by Mr. A. J. Julian and Miss D. Morris and Mr. and Mrs. Baird. After supper Mr. \ . Thomas, chairman of the Patua Dairy Company, spoke of the popularity of the young couple who were leaving Tataraimaka to take up farming. Mrs. Fabish had been a valued member of the Kaitake Women’s Institute and Mr. Fabish an esteemed employee of the dairy company. He had shown the pioneering spirit of his parents. They would, he was sure, make good in their venture. Mr. W. Young, manager of the Patua Dairy Company, on behalf of the staff of the factory, expressed regret at Mr. Fabish’s departure. L was exactly nine years since Mr. Fabish commenced his duties at the factory and during that time he had been a most conscientious worker who always did his best for the company. He had done excellent work as a member of the hall committee and past secretary of the annual staff dances. Mr. and Mrs. Fabish had been since their marriage neighbours whom, said Mr. Young, both Mrs. Young and he would regret to see depart. Mr. Thomas presented to Mr. and Mrs. Fabish a wallet as a token of the esteem in which the residents held them. Mr. Fabish replied.
