Glengarry Hack: Royal Feast, Peggy Defoe, Maine. Flying Handicap: Gasman Sunny Maid, Slippery. Little Flaxmere Hack: Hest, Blue Garter. The acceptors are:— 12.30—TOMOANA HURDLES. Of £80; 11 miles.

HAWERA TRACK NOTES

WAIKATO AND FEILDING GALLOPS. (By “Limited.”) The racecourse at Hawera on Thursday was thoroughly soaked by heavy rains but several of the horses to race at the Waikato and Feilding meetings were sent along seriously and registered good track efforts under heavy conditions. Glenthawn (Galbraith) took 57s in covering four furlongs, seemingly hampered by the going. Ruri (Howe), with a flying start from the six furibngs posts, covered the first three furlongs in 401 s, finishing up his six in lm 2345.* Carfex did steady pace work on tire sand. Alchemic (Sheild) and Aga Khan (Cole) were together throughout a fivefurlong gallop traversed in lm 9 4-ss. Alchemic finished half a length in front. Bantry (Cole) went unimpressively over five furlongs. Waiongona (O’Connell), jumping in at three furlongs, sprinted home in 41s. Supreme Court (Howe) left six furlongs behind in lm 23Js, his last half mile being covered in 55Js. Princess Gowrie (Howe) ran home the last three furlongs of a working gallop in 4315. Ingenuity (Howe) went evenly throughout a working gallop over six furlongs in lm 28Js.

Knockout and Friesland were/ given half pace work on the sand. Dombey (Grindlay) and Autumn Leaf (Grylls) had a good set to over three furlongs, Autumn Leaf shading his opponent on the post in 40s. ’ Gay Chief (Sheild) sprinted two furlongs smartly in 2515. Master Limond (O’Connell) and Carowa (Cook) finished together over three furlongs in 435.

Panloff (Webby) did a good working gallop over a round. Silver Wings, Whemiakura, Our Selection and Kentucky Song did steady pact exercise. . The two-year-olds International and Galteemore sprinted two furlongs down the back. Brilliancy, Notium, Mariel and Shemseh did routine work on the two-year-old track.
