Hemlock in South Otago.

Hemlock is to be seen growing along the roads in some districts in South Otago. Stock as a rule will not eat the weed which is fatal to them, though occasionally when being driven along the road they will pick it up. Like ragwort it can be killed by the use of sodium chlorate. There is a little hemlock to be seen in Taranaki, but it does not.appear to have caused any trouble so far.
