WEDDINGS

KILFORD—MANGHAM. The wedding took place on October 19 at the Baptist Church, New Plymouth, of Marjorie Winnifred, eldest daughter of Mrs. C. B. Mangham, Courtney Street, New Plymouth, and the late Mr. Mangham. and Walter Raymond, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. Kilford, Feilding. The officiating minister was Rev. S. Jenkin and the organist was Miss D. Elliot. The bride, who entered the church escorted by her uncle, Mr. A. C. Evans, wore a beautiful gown of ivory satin cut on slimming lines to the knees, from where it fell in soft folds to form a slight train. The pretty ruched neckline was held in place by a silver clasp and her girdle was also of silver. The tulle veil worn off the face was embroidered with tiny seed pearls with a halo of orange blossom. She carried a sheaf of ivory arum lilies. The bridesmaids, Miss Ngaire Alexander and Miss Nancy Evans, the bride, were attractively dressed alike in-frocks of mist blue embossed chiffon. They were made fitting to the knees with godets in the back which were outlined by two frills which fell in a soft cascade to the ground. Dainty frills had been placed on the corsage to match those on the skirts. Their bandeaux were made of pink carnations and these flowers were also used with rosebuds in their shower bouquets. Mr. D. Elliot, Westown, was best man, and Mr. T. Kilford groomsman.

A reception was held at the Hygienic which had been effectively decorated with pink Iceland poppies and maidenhair fern. To receive the guests Mrs. Mangham wore a smart blue floral marocain frock with loose fitting navy coat and a navy hat. Her bouquet was of mauve primulus. l The bridegroom’s mother, Mrs. Kilford, chose a neat navy natalasse frock with a large navy and a bouquet of scarlet gerberas. When the bride left on her honeymoon she wore a tailored costume of green and fawn diagonal suiting with a smart halo hat to match.
