Pethybridge left Lympne on their flight to Australia at 6.27 a.m. Sir Charles’ permissible load of petrol from England was 138 gallons, which will enable him to cover about 1100 miles at a cruising speed of 190 miles an hour, but when in Europe ,he may take on additional petrol. If the early stages of the flight are satisfactory he intends to try to establish a record. His ambition is to I'each Melbourne at noon on Saturday, Australian time, which would beat Mr. C. W. A. Scott’s record. A Karachi cable says that Mr. C. J. Melrose took off for Jodhpur at 8 a.m. Mr. C. A. Broadbent arrived at Karachi last night and set off for Allahabad at 9.10 a.m. to-day.
