PALACE ARRANGEMENTS WEDDING OF KING’S SON BRIDE’S PROMISE TO OBEY ROYAL PRESENTS VIEWED By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Rec. 11 p.m. London, Nov. 6. The Bishop of London will open the service at the marriage of the Duke of Gloucester and Lady Alice Montagu-Douglas-Scott at Buckingham Palace today. When Lady Alice and her eight bridesmaids walk down the aisle the hymn “Praise My Soul” will be sung. The Archbishop of Canterbury will perform the marriage cermony. Lady Alice will promise to obey. The Primus of Scotland will pray for God’s blessing. The Archbishop of Canterbury will give a short address and will end the service with his blessing, after which the couple will go to the adjacent household drawing-room and sign the register to the strains of Mendelssohn’s “Wedding March.”
One hundred and twenty guests will attend the wedding breakfast, at which, the King will propose the only toast, the health of the couple. Nearly 3000 attended a reception at St. James’ Palace when the Royal wedding presents were on view. The Duka of Gloucester and his fiancee drove with
the Queen from Buckingham Palace to St.- James’ Palace. On their arrival tha Queen, with the Duke and Lady Alice, walked through the State apartments and afterwards mingled with the guests. TWO SLOOPS DRESSED SALUTE OF GUNS FIRED By> Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night The two Imperial sloops attached to the New Zealand division of the Royal Navy, H.M.S. Leith and H.M.S. Wellington, and the training ship Philomel were dressed to-day for the occasion of the wedding of the Duke of Gloucester and Lady Alice Scott. A Royal salute of 21 guns was fired at noon.
