RETURNED SOLDIERS

MEETING OF PATEA BRANCH. The decision to hold an Armistice Day parade on the Sunday following that day and to attend a service m the Presl ?y terian Church was made at ameetm of the committee of the Patea branch of the Returned Soldiers’ Association on Tuesday. Dr. W. T. Simmons presided. After a general discussion of the subsidised labour plan for returned men in the district, it was decided to have the jobs approved and applications for labour made through the secretary. Mr. A. H. Langslow reported having interviewed the stationmaster concerning the proposed R.S.A. picnic, the price to New Plymouth being 4s for adults and 2s for children. Following receipt of a letter from the Captain Hewett testimonial fund committee, which the committee considered to be worthy of support, application for subscription lists for circulation is to be made.
