FATALLY SCALDED
CHILD FALLS INTO HOT WATER. TRIPS OVER PAN ON THE FLOOR. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. Fatal scalds were received by Stanley Joseph Otto, aged two and a half years, when he fell backward into a pan of hot water at his parents’ home at Ararimu this morning. The child, whose back was severely scalded, was brought to the Auckland hospital “and died tins evening. A large pan of water had been heated on the kitchen range by the child's father, Mr. A. A. Otto, and was momentarily left on the kitchen floor. The child, the second youngest of a family of five, stepped backward and tripped over the pan, falling into the hot water.
