CELEBRATION OF HALLOWE’EN. Hallowe’en was celebrated last Thursday at Te Kiri. There was a large attendance. The . children were entertained in the supper-room while the adults danced. Music was supplied by Hooker's orchestra and extras were played by Mrs. Beere. The master of ceremonies was Mr. Agnew. Songs were sung by Mrs. Munro and Mr. Marshall and Mrs. Ewart played accompaniments. Humorous songs were sung by Mr. Stewart Gordon. A Dutch Monte Carlo was ./on by Mr. R. .Clarage and partner. Mr. and Mrs. C. Walsh, who h. ve been staying with his brother, Mr. W. Walsh, have returned to their home at Kaponga. . FESTIVE CHRISTMAS PARTY. PRESBYTERIAN BIBLE CLASS. A festive Christmas party to raise funds for the Bible class was held by St. John’s Presbyterian Church Bible class girls at Hawera last night. The evening had a Christmas touch about it, the audience being provided with paper hats, while a visit ly “Father Christmas” with gifts for selected people was a topical “hit.” Supper was served in bonbons by members of the class. The programme was: Christmas carols, Bible class girls; recitation, Miss Gladys Reynolds; duet, Misses Margaret and Mary Lamb; play, “Under Distinguished Patronage,” members; recitation, Miss Mary Thomson; solo, Mrs. Bone; radio ; burlesque, members; carols, Bible class girls. Mr. L. Rowe and Miss Margaret Lamb were accompanists.
